Under the slogan “Preventive measures are better than therapeutic measures,” Al-Manarah College for Medical Sciences held the first scientific conference to raise awareness about preventing AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) on the occasion of the “World AIDS Day,” in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/University of Maysan, and the Ministry of Health/ Maysan Health Department. The conference took place on 2nd December 2023 at 10:00 AM at Al-Manarah College for Medical Sciences.

The conference began with the opening session, followed by scientific sessions including diverse lectures about the disease, its causes, and prevention methods. Additionally, the sessions addressed statistics about the disease in different countries. The scientific sessions were accompanied by lively scientific discussions, reflecting the importance of the conference and the audience’s engagement with the presented lectures. The conference concluded with several proposals and recommendations, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Ministry of Health for consideration and implementation in service of the Iraqi community and our dear country.
