To promote an optimal environmental reality in our province of Maysan, and raise environmental awareness among students, Al-Manara College of Medical Sciences held the scientific symposium entitled “Climate changes and their impact on the environment.” Which was held in cooperation with the Maysan Environment Directorate on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in the conference and celebration hall at the college.

The symposium included a lecture by Dr. Basem Muhammad, Director of the Maysan Environment Department, which addressed pollutants and their impact on the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and a lecture by Dr. Riyad Fadel, representative of the Environmental Media and Awareness Department at the Ministry of Environment, which addressed environmental challenges in Iraq. The symposium witnessed extensive discussions from the large attendance of professors, teachers, and students about Environmental and climate problems, solutions, and alternatives. The symposium concluded with the Ministry of Environment honoring the Deanship of Al-Manara College, as well as honoring Asst. Lect. Rasha Abdel-Saadi for the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division at the college, and Dr. Basem Muhammad, Director of the Environment Department in Maysan.
