In a move to enhance the role of Private university education in Iraq, On Tuesday 11 June 2024, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi , has visited the University of Manara in Misan. His Excellency inaugurated the University Presidency Building on the occasion of his approval of the College’s transformation into a university.
His Excellency the Minister commended the University’s outstanding infrastructure and the advanced level of scientific research offered by researchers at our University during the meeting which has held on this occasion.
He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the committees which have mandated to receive the ministerial delegation, commending the efforts made to make this important visit a success.

At this visit, the Minister was accompanied by the Governor of Misan, Mr. Habib Zahir, the President of the University of Misan, Prof. Dr. Adel Mana, and the President of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeeq, as well as the scientific and administrative associate.

This visit and the inauguration reflects the Minister’s interest in the realities of higher education and his desire to provide the right environment for our students and to develop the infrastructure for universities and colleges. His Excellency the Minister’s move to transform the College into a university is a clear demonstration of his commitment to upgrading the level of higher education and his continued support for research and scientific efforts, contributing to sustainable development and providing society with qualified scientific competencies.
