In line with the recommendations of the recent Arab Summit held in Baghdad, as part of the Addiction Prevention Initiative, and in alignment with the “University Awareness” initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to promote awareness and a positive culture among students to reduce the risks of addiction, the College of Nursing at the University of Manara organized a series of awareness and sports activities for first-year students.
The events, coordinated by the Student Activities Unit at the college, included a lecture titled “The Dangers of Addiction”, which aimed to shed light on the psychological, social, and health-related impacts of addiction and highlight prevention strategies. In addition, a friendly football match was held among first-year students to foster sportsmanship and positive interaction.
The activities were supervised and attended by the esteemed Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hussein Ghanem Mutelej, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building a responsible and resilient youth capable of facing social challenges.
At the conclusion of the events, the Dean honored the winning team by presenting them with the College of Nursing Shield, in recognition of their participation and excellence in the sports activity.
