Forensic Science Students at Al-Manara University Conduct Field Experiment to Extract DNA
As part of the ongoing scientific and practical activities at the College of Science, the Department of Forensic Evidence at Al-Manara University conducted a hands-on field experiment in the Forensic DNA laboratory on Sunday, May 4, 2025. The aim was to train students in the process of extracting DNA from blood samples.
Supervised by specialized academic staff, the students actively participated in the steps of DNA extraction and analysis inside the laboratory. They also applied DNA typing techniques, one of the most important methods used in criminal investigations and identity verification.
This scientific initiative is part of the department’s efforts to strengthen the practical skills of students, enhance their competence in using modern biotechnological tools in forensic science, and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, thereby preparing them professionally for future careers.
