University of Manara Wins First Place in the 2025 Al-Khwarizmi Award for Distinguished Research
The University of Manara has achieved a prestigious scientific milestone by securing first place in the third edition of the Al-Khwarizmi Award for Distinguished Research – 2025, organized by the College of Engineering – Al-Khwarizmi at the University of Baghdad. The award was granted to Prof. Dr. Salem Neamah Salih, representing the University of Manara, in the category of “Outstanding Scientific Research.”
The award ceremony was held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, with the attendance of the President of the University of Baghdad and several prominent academic figures from various Iraqi universities.
The Al-Khwarizmi Award aims to encourage academic excellence by honoring outstanding researchers and faculty members from both within and outside the university system, promoting a culture of innovation and institutional distinction.
In his speech during the event, Professor Dr. Wadoud Tahir Mohammed, Dean of the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, emphasized that the award has become an annual tradition reflecting the university’s commitment to supporting scientific excellence. He also highlighted that the wide participation this year demonstrates the presence of promising talents worthy of recognition and support.
The event included an introductory presentation about the award categories and selection criteria, followed by the distribution of shields and certificates of appreciation to the winners, in a celebratory atmosphere that reflected pride in the academic achievements of distinguished Iraqi researchers.
