Al-Manara University Reaffirms Its Scientific Commitment to Combating Extremism and Terrorism During the Second Joint Scientific Conference

Al-Manara University participated in the activities of the Second Joint Scientific Conference, organized by the Popular Mobilization Authority / Maysan Office in collaboration with peer private colleges and universities. The conference was held on Monday, April 28, 2025, where the university reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting scientific programs and specialized research aimed at combating terrorism and countering extremism.

In its address, Al-Manara University emphasized the pivotal role that higher education institutions play in strengthening the national strategy against terrorism. The university highlighted the importance of raising community awareness, launching educational and awareness initiatives, and conducting specialized research studies that contribute to empowering youth and enhancing their intellectual and critical thinking abilities to confront extremist ideologies.

The university further stressed that scientific research and high-quality training programs serve as fundamental pillars for building an enlightened generation capable of resisting deviant ideologies, by promoting a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

For his part, Sheikh Adnan Al-Ghanami, Head of the Popular Mobilization Authority in Maysan, praised the pioneering scientific efforts made by private universities, particularly Al-Manara University, commending its active collaboration with specialized security institutions in fulfilling this vital national mission.
