The Union of Writers and Writers in Maysan, in cooperation with Al-Manara College of Medical Sciences, held a poetry session for the poet, Dr. Aref Al-Saadi, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture.

The session witnessed a remarkable presence of a group of Kuwaiti poets: the poet Abdullah Al-Failakawi, the poet Athbi Al-Othman, the poet Musaed Shaalan, and a group of poets and critics from Maysan and the various governorates of Iraq.

The session began with a speech by the Maysan Writers Union, and a welcoming speech to the guests from the representative of the college, after which poetry readings were witnessed by Al-Saadi, the first of which was a poem that sang about Maysan and its giving, as well as cash testimonies of his rich experience. After that, the guests of Al-Manara met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the College, Hajj Abdul-Saadi, who welcomed the poet who has always sung about Maysan, and praised Al-Saadi with all words of appreciation for the poet’s unique experience and his happiness in hosting a festive session for him on the grounds of Al-Manara College.
